MONTY PYTHON and the HOLY GRAIL board game

We are happy to share that manufacturing in that far-off realm, has begun in earnest on the Monty Python and the Holy Grail game!  The final tweaks to the catapult manufacturing are complete.  And everything is in hand for the creation of assets has started.  We're hopeful that we'll be able to share some photos from the factory along the way over the next few weeks.  I know we're excited to see it all come together.

And because it is simply fabulous...we want to share these clappable coconut meeples with you.  Imagine the excitement of using these marvelous meeples to enhance your knight's travel sound effects.  Yes...that is the kind of thrilling gameplay you can expect with the Holy Grail game!  Huzzah!

The final catapult design is approved!  And to celebrate its completion we wanted to share this video of construction of the catapult prototype and the flinging of a cow.  Enjoy!

For those of you interested in such things, we found that a longer rubber band supplied a better fling for most farm animals.  As we measured the trajectory and the distance of the fling we found that the ideal torque for throwing animals at your opponents.  

Our next step is for the factory to begin production in full.  That's being set up right now and we'll keep you posted as we get additional information on the work from the factory floor.

With the Monty Python and the Holy Grail game prototypes in hand, we're excited to share some photos of the components with you.  When we were able to pry the catapult out of our game testers' hands, we grabbed the livestock meeples to share with everyone.  Here's a peek at the critters you can fling in your opponent's general direction.



Let me tell you...there is nothing quite as majestic as that red chicken flying across the board and knocking your rival knights to the ground.  Makes it quite easy to always look on the bright side of life.  Unless of course, it is your knight being pummeled by poultry.

Another quick update here - there was a lot of bird poop on the office window this morning.  Come to find out, the swallows left a little present along with the delivery of the Monty Python Holy Grail Game prototypes.  After a few minutes cleaning the window, we opened the box!  Here's what we saw:


Huzzah! The prototype looks fantastic!  Our game design team is busting open a copy and going to make sure everything looks and works well.  Keep an eye out for more images and updates coming soon!

We just received word from the factory that the final Monty Python's Holy Grail Game prototypes have been completed and are being strapped to swallows to ship to us right now via USPS (Unusual Swallows Parcel Shipping).  As the bird flies - we expect to have them in hand about a week from now.  At which time, after we bust them open and play it ourselves, we'll be sending out pictures of what the final assets and packaging look like!  Huzzah!



If everything checks out - and we are happy with the trajectory and distance we get from flinging farm animals across the board from our catapults - we will give the go-ahead to begin production in full force.  That means we'll be able to share photos from the factory floor as the games are being made and we should be able to track the progress of the games.
